About the project.

I wanted to make a film portrait without an extensive script or rehearsed lines. I wanted a film of someone who speaks from the heart, where the film supports the story and not the other way around.

I couldn't have been luckier with Bert de Beer . I found his enthusiasm as a volunteer at Het Flevo-landschap and his grateful outlook on life inspiring, and a wonderful example of the many volunteers who make the Netherlands a little bit more beautiful.
